Well, to get things started, here is what I was doing this past Labor Day weekend. I loaded up my truck with my 4" Keene 3 Stage dredge, and left Wisconsin, heading towards Indiana. I planned on meeting up with a very experienced prospector/author friend of mine. Chuck Lassiter has prospected Indiana, as well as in many other states, for over 20 years. He has been a great asset to me, and my sport-looking for gold! Indiana has an abundance of gold in its creeks and streams. Not all are super rich, but some are pretty impressive. Chuck knows these rivers well, and has sampled and worked alot of them.
We met, and loaded up his custom 4" dredge, and headed to a local river. After a long haul of about 350 yards upstream, we set up our dredges, and started to work some cracks, crevices, and "pot hole" type variations in bedrock. Since I started dredging with Chuck, he has shown me the world of shallow dredging. I have not used air on any of the rivers in his area. The bedrock is so exposed, that the areas he recommends working are pretty shallow and not so deep to get at!! here are some pictures of the gold I got, the gold Chuck got, and some action photo's to boot!!! Enjoy!!

Welcome to Gold Blog!!!
Hello!! My name is Rick S. and I am a gold seeker from Wisconsin. For the past 4 years I have began following the footsteps of gold prospectors from mnay different states. I have been fortunate enough to have prospected in several states. Arizona, Colorado, South Dakota, Indiana, and Wisconsin have all been places to increase the severity of my gold fever. Throughout this blog, you will see pics and photos about how I began in my hobby, those who have helpd me out the most, and where I plan to dog next. Why not take a second and see what this Cheesehead has been up to??? .........
